Volume III continues to search for new ideas in guitar ensemble literature. When I really stopped to think of what was taking place, I discovered that it was my students who had become one of my greatest incentives to write new material. Working closely with them on a regular basis, recognizing what they were capable of if they had the right material and then hearing them rise to the challenge was great fun. The result is what you win hear on this recording and what was presented at 54 consecutive performances. In appreciation of their time, effort, talent, and dedication to a level of higher achievement, I am including the names of every student who played solo, duo, trio, quartet, and quintet performance over the last 28 years, or who have made significant contributions to the great experiment known as the Los Angeles Valley College Classical Guitar Ensemble.
